Family Overview

A family of indexable Mill-Thread inserts and tool holders that include multiple straight flutes. These tools are well-suited for machining long threads (from small to large diameters).

SLIM MT THREADING INSERTS

These threading inserts are available in two different lengths (26 mm and 40 mm). Depending on the length – they can handle pitches from 0.5 mm / 20 TPI to 3.0 mm / 8 TPI.

Features:

  • The inserts are double sided, i.e. have two cutting edges (except for BSPT / NPT / NPTF)
  • The inserts for Whitworth / BSPT / NPT / NPTF thread profiles can be used for both internal and external threads

Carbide Grade(s):

Advanced new sub-micron carbide grade with multi-layer PVD coating: Provides high performance under all conditions. The new grade ensures high abrasion resistance, and is capable of machining a wide range of materials including tough and difficult-to-machine materials, and high alloy steels.

SLIM MT TOOL HOLDERS

Tool holders for inserts from the Slim MT family. The holders in this line of products are only compatible with inserts designed to machine parallel threads (ISO / UN / Whitworth). Each tool holder supports multiple (2-4) inserts.

Features:

  • Internal coolant bore
  • Nickel coating for high wear resistance

Notes:

  • The tool holders SR17- … -SL26-2 and SR067- … -SL26-2 are incompatible with the following inserts: SL26 I 3.0 ISO / SL26 E 3.0 ISO / SL26 I 9 UN / SL26 I 8 UN

SLIM MT TOOL HOLDERS FOR CONICAL THREADS

Tool holders for conical inserts from the Slim MT family, compatible only with inserts designed to machine conical threads (BSPT / NPT / NPTF). Each tool holder supports multiple (2-4) inserts.

  • Internal coolant bore
  • Nickel coating for high wear resistance

Notes:

  • The tool holders SRT17-27-SL26-2, SR T 067-075-106-SL26-2 and SR T 067-106-SL26-2 can’t be used with the following inserts: SL 26 – 11.5 NPT / SL 26 – 11.5 NPTF / SL 26 – 11 BSPT
