Family Overview
We offer a wide range of solid carbide mill threading tools, designed for an extensive array of applications. We can accommodate every need: from basic, cost-effective solutions, to the most demanding applications.
Features:
- The thread is generated in a single pass
- Spiral flutes allow for smooth cutting action
- The smallest possible cutting diameter is only 2.2 mm large
- Capable of threading up to shoulder in blind hole operations
- Same tool can be used for a variety of materials
- Superb quality surface finish
- Low cutting pressure allows for thin-wall machining
- Same tool can be used for both Right-hand and Left-hand threads
Our range of solid carbide mill threading tools consists of the following lines:
MT - THREAD MILLS WITHOUT INTERNAL COOLANT
The MT line of thread milling tools is our solution for basic, cost effective, thread machining.
Features:
- Multi (3-5) flutes
Carbide Grade(s):
MTB – THREAD MILLS WITH INTERNAL COOLANT BORE FOR BLIND HOLES
The MTB line of thread milling tools capitalized on the success of the MT line, and improved it further, by adding cooling through the bore.
Features:
- Coolant fluid washes the chips out of the hole
- Increased tool life
Carbide Grade(s):
MTZ – THREAD MILLS WITH INTERNAL COOLANT THROUGH THE FLUTES
Tools from the MTZ range of thread milling tools support cooling through the tool’s flutes. This enables the stream of the coolant fluid to reach the cutting edge efficiently, helping to achieve a smoother cutting operation.
Features:
- Specially designed for threading on “through holes”
- Direct chip removal
- Optimal for machines without external coolant
Carbide Grade(s):
EMT – THREAD MILLS FOR EXTERNAL THREADS
The EMT line of thread milling tools provides a basic, cost-effective solution, for machining External threads.
Features:
- Multi (3-5) flutes
Carbide Grade(s):
MTQ – THREAD MILLS WITH RELIEVED NECKS FOR DEEP WORK PIECES
The MTQ line of thread milling tools is best suited for the threading of medium and large threads, in fairly deep work pieces (including those at the bottom of the application).
Features:
- High rigidity and stability (anti-vibration)
- Allows the reduction of cycle times via the use of higher cutting speeds and feeds
- Supports overhangs
- Relatively low cutting forces, due to short cutting length
- Thread lengths of up to 3D
- Internal coolant bore
Carbide Grade(s):
FMT – FAST THREAD MILLS WITH INTERNAL COOLANT BORE
The FMT/Fast MT line of solid carbide thread milling tools is a line of tools that were designed for increased productivity, and high performance.
Features:
- Large number of flutes (5-8), resulting in significantly shorter machining times
- Internal coolant bore
Carbide Grade(s):
AMT – THREAD MILLS FOR ALUMINUM
High-speed aluminum machining requires tools that minimize the tendency of Aluminum to stick to the cutting edges of the tool, provide high surface finishes, and ensure efficient chip evacuation. The AMT line of tools is compatible with all the requirements stated above.
Features:
- Cylindrical shank (Weldon shank available upon request)
- Uncoated, smooth cutting edge
- Internal coolant bore
Carbide Grade(s):
AMT – THREAD MILLS FOR ALUMINUM (WITH CUTTING CHAMFER)
A variation on the basic AMT line that adds chamfering capabilities to the tools.
Features:
- Uncoated, smooth cutting edge
- Internal coolant bore
Carbide Grade(s):
FMTZ – THREAD MILLS FOR HIGH CUTTING STABILITY (WITH INTERNAL COOLANT)
A line of solid carbide thread mills, optimized for high cutting stability. The thread mills in this line perform right-hand cutting with left-hand helix. During the machining process, the tool enters the material at the upper point of the cutting edge (close to the shank).
Features:
- Multi (3-5) flutes
- Coolant holes directed to the cutting edge
- Grade optimized for High Performance Cutting (HPC), and edge stability
- Engineered for reduced cutting forces during machining
Carbide Grade(s):
FT – THREAD MILLS FOR HIGH CUTTING STABILITY (WITH ADDITIONAL FLUTES)
A line of solid carbide thread mills, optimized for high cutting stability. The thread mills of this product line are similar to those of the FMTZ line. The main difference is that they don’t support pass-through cooling. Instead, these tools feature more flutes than their FMTZ equivalents.
Features:
- Large number of flutes (4-6), which helps to lower cycle times, improving productivity
- Grade optimized for High Performance Cutting (HPC), and edge stability
- Engineered for reduced cutting forces during machining
Carbide Grade(s):
SOLID CARBIDE TAPERED END MILLS
Solid carbide end mills, designed to be used before thread milling operations of conical threads (during the milling preparation process). The use of these end mills helps to increase the tool life of the mill thread cutters / indexable inserts, and reduces the overall machining time.
Features:
- Creates a uniform load distribution along the cutting edge of the mill thread cutter
- Tools are compatible with both external and internal jobs
